The institute establishes a link with the school and community through the following ways.
- Financial help to the visually challenged and hearing impaired people.
- Adult education classes.
- Organizing awareness programmes to parents.
- Donating learning materials to special schools.
- Preparation of donation of teaching aids to schools.
- Conducting community surveys in Attoor village.
- Conducting exhibitions.
The principals of Teacher Training institutes should prescribe uniform dress for all the students as per the guidelines given in Rule 50 of Tamilnadu Educational Rules.
FIELD TRIPS AND EDUCATIONAL TOURS :
Core of the important activities of the teacher education programme is conducting field trips and educational tours for the trainees. Field trips and educational tours enhance the trainee' s knowledge , skill and aptitudes and organizational abilities. Hence during each year field trips and tours shall be arranged. Field trips shall be arranged as and when necessary depending on the syllabus. Periodical field trips and annual educational tours may be arranged for the Teacher trainees.
ACADEMIC INSPECTION :
The DIET principal of each district shall do inspection of all types of
private TTIs in the district. Annual inspection will be conducted in all
the TTIs in the district. The Inspection Team comprising of principal
and two senior Lecturers, will look into all the academic, administrative
and financial aspects of the Institute. The principal will prepare the
report of the annual inspection conducted and sent it to the Director
for review.
